In July 2016 I traveled to Kenya as a Fund for Teacher Fellow. Together with H2O for Life, I visited schools that have carried out WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) projects as a result of partnership with U.S. schools. In 2012 I participated in Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC), a program of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administrated by IREX. TGC provided an opportunity for me to globalize teaching and learning through participation in an 8-week online Global Education course, two Global Symposia in Washington, DC and a 2-week travel fellowship to Ghana.
